Armistad looked over the list that he had just pulled from his pocket and crossed off the items he'd just purchased in the last shop he'd been in. He was redoing his bedroom and had been purchasing carpet. Next he was going on to another shop where he would be trying to locate matching drapes, or at least something as close as he could get.
Folding up the list again, he placed it back into his pocket and started off down the street, ignoring the looks that he was getting from some of the women that he passed. He'd been told all his life that he was attractive, but he honestly didn't see it. Maybe it was his eyes. He smiled at a young woman that nearly ran into him as she just couldn't take her eyes off them as she was passing him. He thought he heard her squeal as he moved off down the way. He shook his head and chuckled softly.
Reaching the store, he held the door open for a little old couple, receiving a pat on his cheek and was told that he was such a nice young man. Armis had heard a lot of things in his life, but that one always made him grin. He followed them into the building and started looking for his drapes. He knew that he didn't want the hideous blue. Maybe a slate gray. That would certainly go with the carpet he'd purchased.
He looked over the drapes that were on display, finding fabrics that he liked, but not in the color that he wanted, or he liked the color, but not the fabric. He sighed, thinking maybe he should find a different color. Or maybe he would get blinds.
Wandering toward the back of the shop, Armis began looking just in general. He thought that his carpet wasn't really gray. It was a plaid, but the slate gray would have set it off nicely. Then he found a curtain that he liked very much. It would go with the carpet, and since he was going furniture shopping next, it would make it easier to locate a bed that he liked, that would fit with the new decor. He just couldn't take that blue and gold any longer.
He ordered and paid for the curtains, arranging delivery for the next day since he'd not brought the van with him, and headed out the door, feeling very happy. He was having fun redoing his room!
He pulled out the list and crossed off 'curtains' as he walked, and since he wasn't looking where he was going, he ran smack into another person.
"I'm so sorry!" he said as he scrambled to keep hold of his list, which was fluttering in the air, evading his hand. He looked up and saw that the person that he'd hit was someone that he knew.
"Well, Hi!" He grinned happily. His day just seemed to be getting better all the time.
